X射线自由电子激光工程近日开启

据媒体报道,一条长达3.4公里的地下隧道正式动工,欧洲X射线自由电子激光项目的核心工程6月30日在德国汉堡开始建设。这一隧道工程预计于2014年完工,2015年进行首次科研实验。

 

据德国媒体报道,欧洲X射线自由电子激光设备是世界首个能产生高强度短脉冲X射线的激光设备。这一大型科研项目由德国和欧洲其他11个国家共同参与,将建设3条直径不同的地下隧道,总长度接近6公里,总耗资超过10亿欧元,德国出资54%。
